Ingredients
- 1 stick margarine
- 1 c. Crisco
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 box brown sugar
- 5 eggs (at room temperature)
- 1 c. milk (room temperature)
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans, dredged into a bit of flour
Method
- Cream butter and Crisco until fluffy.
- Add sugars and eggs. Add milk and flour, mixed with salt and baking powder, alternately.
- Add vanilla and nuts, if desired.
- Turn into greased and floured pan.
- Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
- Cool 25 minutes before removing from pan.
- This is baked in a tube pan.
