Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 c. milk
- 2 or 3 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. butter (room temperature)
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 (9-inch) pie crust (deep-dish)
Method
- Beat eggs; add sugar and cornstarch, then add butter, milk and vanilla. (Use wooden spoon or whisk, not electric mixer.) Cover bottom of unbaked pie crust with pecans or raisins; pour pie mixture in pie crust and bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 275°; bake until firm.
