Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 5 eggs
  • 6 slices white bread, crust removed
  • butter, softened
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded cheese
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2 c. half and half

Method

  • Cook sausage over medium heat until done, stirring to crumble. Drain on paper towel and set aside.
  • Spread each slice of bread with butter; cut into cubes.
  • Place bread in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  • Sprinkle with sausage and top with cheese.
  • Combine remaining ingredients.
  • Beat well and pour over mixture in baking dish.
  • Chill in refrigerator at least 8 hours.
  • Remove the dish from refrigerator and bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes.
  • After cooking, cover and keep in refrigerator.
  • Slice and heat in microwave as needed.
