Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 c. self-rising flour
  • 2 sticks melted margarine

Method

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water; set aside.
  • Melt Crisco in boiling water.
  • After melted, add sugar, sifted flour, eggs and yeast mixture.
  • Mix well.
  • Cover loosely and refrigerate overnight.
  • Divide mixture in half and roll out like biscuits. Dip each biscuit in melted butter.
  • Place in 9 x 13-inch bread pan.
  • Let rise 2 to 3 hours.
  • Bake at 350° until done.
