Ingredients

  • 1 11/16 cups milk
  • 8 5/8 cups bread approximately
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 7/16 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups cocoa
  • pine nuts
  • sultanas soaked in rum
  • 10 Amaretti Cookies crushed
  • ground cinnamon

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180C.
  • Soak the bread in the milk and stir with a wooden spoon until it is of a mushy consistency.
  • Add the egg, sugar, flour, chocolate, a handful of pine nuts, a handful of sultanas with the rum, Amaretti cookies, and cinnamon. Stir the ingredients to combine well until the mixture is soft. Add a few drops of milk, if necessary, to make the mixture softer.
  • Place the mixture in a buttered round springform pan.
  • Bake for approximately 50 minutes.
  • Remove the cake from the oven, let it cool, and serve.
