Ingredients
- 25 large cucumbers
- 12 onions, sliced
- 1/2 c. salt
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 2 Tbsp. ginger root
- 2 Tbsp. celery seed
Method
- Place cucumbers in cold water until crisp.
- Wipe dry and slice. Add sliced onions and salt.
- Let stand 1 hour; do not drain.
- Add 1 quart vinegar and a little water. Boil sugar, mustard seed, ginger root and celery seed for 5 minutes.
- While hot, fill jars and seal.
