Ingredients

  • 1 cauliflower
  • 2 cucumbers
  • 3 large onions
  • 3 green peppers
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 c. coarse salt
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 small yellow squash
  • whole pods of small okra
  • 2 pods sliced hot pepper
  • 5 c. red vinegar
  • 3 green tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
  • 2 tsp. mustard seed

Method

  • Chop vegetables into big pieces.
  • Leave flowerets large.
  • Put all vegetables in a large container.
  • Sprinkle with salt.
  • Pour 1/2 cup of water over all.
  • Mix well.
  • Cover and let set 12 hours or overnight.
