Ingredients
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. boiling water
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. all-bran
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 cakes compressed yeast
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 2 beaten eggs
- 6 c. flour
Method
- Combine shortening, boiling water, sugar, bran and salt; stir until shortening is melted.
- Set aside to cool to lukewarm. Combine yeast and 1 cup lukewarm water.
- Dissolve and add to first mixture.
- Add beaten eggs; mix well.
- Add flour and mix well. Cover and place in refrigerator overnight or until ready to use. Dough will last in refrigerator for a week.
- When ready, pinch off amount needed and place in greased baking pan.
- Let rise and bake in a 350° oven until done.
