Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 eggs, unbeated
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1 cup shredded coconut, toasted
- 1 cup rolled oats, toasted
Method
- Combine shortening, sugars, eggs, salt, and vanilla and beat thoroughly. Sift flour and soda together; add to first mixture with coconut and oats and mix well. Drop level tablespoons of dough on greased baking sheets. Bake in moderate oven (350°F) 10-15 minutes.
