Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 2 lb Beef stew meat, cut into 1" pieces.
  • 2 Tbsp. Veg. oil
  • 2 med Onions, minced
  • 1 x Clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp Dill weed
  • 1 tsp Caraway seed
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 c. Water
  • 1 c. Lowfat sour cream
  • 27 ounce Sauerkraut Additional paprika

Method

  • In a bowl or possibly plastic bag, combine flour, salt and pepper.
  • Add in beef; dredge or possibly shake to coat.
  • In a Dutch oven, brown the beef, half at a time, in oil; drain.
  • Add in onions, garlic, dill, caraway, paprika and water.
  • Cover and simmer for 2 hrs or possibly till meat is tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in lowfat sour cream; heat through but don't boil.
  • Heat sauerkraut; drain and spoon onto a serving platter.
  • Top with the beef mix.
  • Sprinkle with paprika.
