Ingredients

  • 1 qt. frozen blackberries
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter
  • 1 c. sugar (add more to taste)
  • 1 tsp. lemon extract
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch

Method

  • Bring blackberries to boil in 2 cups of water; let boil about 10 minutes.
  • Strain blackberries in colander to strain seeds. Combine blackberries and all ingredients, except biscuits, in pot. Cook on medium heat until boiling; let boil 10 minutes.
  • Pinch off biscuits and drop into mixture to make dumplings (use at least 4 biscuits).
  • Cook additional 10 minutes.
  • Serves 6.
