Ingredients
- 1 lb. lard or shortening
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. anise seed
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 tsp. brandy extract
- 6 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Method
- Preheat oven to 375°.
- In large bowl cream lard and sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs, anise and brandy extract.
- Beat and mix well. Add flour alternately, with baking powder, salt and creamed mixture until stiff dough has formed.
- Knead dough; pat or roll out to 1/4-inch shapes.
- Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 375°.
