Ingredients
- 1/2 glass wine
- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 6 large eggs or 8 small ones
- 4 c. plain flour
- 2 rounded tsp. baking powder (add to flour before sifting)
- 1 qt. pecans, chopped
- 1 box raisins (optional)
Method
- Beat sugar and butter together.
- Beat eggs separately (whites and yellows).
- Stir them into mixture.
- Add 3 cups flour, which has been sifted only once.
- Take the remaining cup of flour and dredge nuts and raisins.
- Line bottom of the cake pan with waxed paper.
- Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
