Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup sesame seeds, lightly toasted
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl combine flour, salt and baking soda. Mix thoroughly and set aside.
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg until just combined. Slowly add in flour mixture and mix until thoroughly combined. Stir in sesame seeds.
- Drop dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets a couple of inches apart. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for a minute on the pan and then transfer to wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
