Ingredients

  • 1 lb. top sirloin, sliced 1/4-inch strips
  • 1/2 lb. pork, sliced 1/4-inch strips
  • 5 Tbsp. soy sauce and 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. minced fresh ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. peanut oil
  • 2 medium onions, cut 1/2 moons
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced diagonally
  • 3 green peppers, sliced
  • 1 c. mushrooms
  • 3 large tomatoes, cut in 1/8's
  • 3 green onions, chopped

Method

  • Combine first 6 ingredients with meat.
  • Marinate for 15 minutes.
  • Drain; reserve marinade.
  • Heat wok; add peanut oil. Sear meat quickly over high heat.
  • Remove meat.
  • Add oil if needed to stir-fry next 4 ingredients.
  • Cook until tender-crisp.
  • Add meat and marinate tomatoes and green onions.
  • Stir until heated through and slightly thickened.
  • Serve over rice.
