Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. sesame seed
  • 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/4 lb. green beans, sliced diagonally into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 medium white onion, cut into 8 wedges
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lb. flank steak, cut on diagonal against grain into 1/4-inch thick strips
  • 1/2 c. beef broth
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp. Asian sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Method

  • Cook sesame seed in a dry wok over medium heat, tossing until lightly browned and fragrant, about 3 minutes.
  • Remove to plate. In wok, heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil over high heat until hot, swirling to coat sides of pan.
  • Add green beans, onion and garlic. Stir-fry until crisp-tender, 4 to 6 minutes.
  • Remove to plate.
