Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 3 onions, diced
  • 1/3 c. medium pearl barley
  • 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 3 potatoes, diced
  • 3 stalks celery, diced

Method

  • Cook meat in margarine 2 to 3 minutes, breaking up.
  • Add next 6 ingredients and 1 1/2 quarts water.
  • Bring to boil.
  • Cover and simmer 1 hour.
  • Add remaining ingredients (vegetables) and simmer 1 hour longer.
  • Enjoy.
