Ingredients

  • 2 pound beef tip, cut into 1 1/4 inch cubes
  • 10 1/2 ounce. can beef consomme
  • 1/3 c. dry white wine or possibly apple juice
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion pwdr
  • 1 tbsp. plus 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Method

  • Heat consomme, wine, soy sauce, garlic and onion to boiling.
  • Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5 min.
  • Cold.
  • Pour mix onto beef.
  • Cover and chill.
  • Spoon mix over beef occasionally for at least 3 hrs or possibly overnight.
  • Thread beef cubes on skewer.
  • Stir marinade gradually into cornstarch in a sauce pan.
  • Cook stirring constantly till mix thickens.
  • Boil for 1 minute.
  • Brush over kabobs.
  • Set oven to broil.
  • Broil kabobs about 4 inches from heat.
  • Broil for 7 min, turn, brush with sauce and broil 7 min more.
  • Place on warm platter, spoon on remaining sauce.
