Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. stew beef, cubed
  • 4 or 5 raw potatoes, sliced
  • 1 pt. sour cream
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1 c. shredded sharp cheese
  • 1 c. crushed Wheaties (or other cereal)
  • 1 medium onion
  • oil (to brown meat in)

Method

  • Lightly spray or butter 9 x 13 or larger pan.
  • Brown beef and onion together in skillet. Mix sour cream, mushroom soup and shredded cheese.
  • This is made in layers.
  • In greased pan, spread layer of sliced raw potatoes, then layer of beef and onion, then layer of cheese, sour cream and soup mix.
  • Repeat until you have used all ingredients except crushed cereal.
  • Put the cereal on last.
  • Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350°.
  • I usually cover this for first half hour or so, then uncover.
