Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 6 c. water
  • 6 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 or 3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. barley
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 1/4 c. chopped celery
  • 2 carrots, cut in bite-size pieces
  • 1 can mixed vegetables
  • 1/2 c. small pasta

Method

  • Brown ground beef.
  • Add next items.
  • Season to taste with salt, pepper, parsley and oregano.
  • Bring to boil.
  • Simmer 1 1/2 hours and serve.
  • If too thick or too rich, you can add bouillon or plain water.
