Ingredients
- 1 lb. round steak or chuck, cut into strips
- 2 Tbsp. salad oil
- 1 c. water
- 1 clove garlic, chopped fine
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1/2 lb. fresh or 6 oz. c. mushrooms
- 4 c. Chinese cabbage, sliced about 1 1/2-inches wide (about 1 medium head)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Method
- Heat oil in large skillet or Dutch oven; toss in beef and brown on all sides.
- Pour in 1/2 cup water; cover and cook slowly for 30 to 45 minutes until meat is tender.
- Add vegetables to beef with rest of water.
- Cover and cook 15 minutes longer.
- Don't overcook vegetables.
