Ingredients

  • 1/2 pounds Lean Ground Beef
  • 1/2 cups Diced Carrot
  • 1/2 cups Diced Onions
  • 2 teaspoons Minced Garlic
  • 2 stalks Celery Finely Chopped
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 cup All Purpose Tomato Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme
  • 2/3 cups Barley

Method

  • Cook lean ground beef in a skillet over medium high heat and once it's browned, drain grease.
  • Spray a Dutch oven with cooking spray and saute carrots, onions, garlic and celery for 2 minutes.
  • Add ground beef, broth, water, tomato sauce and thyme.
  • Stir in barley.
  • Let simmer uncovered for 1 .5 hours.
  • Serve as a main meal with crusty bread. Enjoy!
