Ingredients
- 1/2 pounds Lean Ground Beef
- 1/2 cups Diced Carrot
- 1/2 cups Diced Onions
- 2 teaspoons Minced Garlic
- 2 stalks Celery Finely Chopped
- 4 cups Beef Broth
- 3 cups Water
- 1 cup All Purpose Tomato Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Thyme
- 2/3 cups Barley
Method
- Cook lean ground beef in a skillet over medium high heat and once it's browned, drain grease.
- Spray a Dutch oven with cooking spray and saute carrots, onions, garlic and celery for 2 minutes.
- Add ground beef, broth, water, tomato sauce and thyme.
- Stir in barley.
- Let simmer uncovered for 1 .5 hours.
- Serve as a main meal with crusty bread. Enjoy!
