Ingredients

  • Saltsa Bechamel
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly grnd pepper dash of nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 c. lowfat milk

Method

  • Method:In a heavy sauce pan, heat butter over a low heat; add in flour, salt, pepper, and nutmeg; stir till well blended.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Gradually stir in lowfat milk and return to heat.
  • Cook, stirring constantly, till thick and smooth.
  • Makes 2 c..
  • With Large eggs: When sauce is thick, remove from heat and gradually add in 2 Large eggs, slightly beaten, stirring constantly.
