Ingredients

  • 1 packages active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water (heated at 115 degrees)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup nutella (more or less depending on how much you love it :) )

Method

  • In a bowl add water, yeast and take 1 tablespoon of the above sugar measurement and set aside for 5 mins to allow yeast to activate
  • In a bowl of a stand mixer for it with the dough hook and mix the flour, remaining on sugar and salt
  • Add the melted butter, milk and yeast mixture and mix until dough comes together, then with the speed on medium let it knead got about 7 mins until dough is smooth
  • Place dough into an oiled bowl, and cover with plastic wrap and place in a warm spot for about an hour to allow it to double in volume.
  • Divide dough in half and roll into 10" rectangle, smear surface with nutella and roll tightly like a jelly roll starting on the long side
  • Cut the roll you've made in half lengthwise (so inside is exposed) leaving a half in at the top uncut.

  • Place on parchment paper lined baking sheet and repeat with other half of dough
  • Cover loosely with plastic wrap and allow them to sit for half an hour.
