- 1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine, melted
- 2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs
- 2 c. powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 sticks soft margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 5 to 6 bananas
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 (15 1/4 oz.) can crushed pineapple
- 1 large carton Cool Whip
- 1/4 c. nuts, chopped
- maraschino cherries
Method
- Blend 1 1/2 sticks melted margarine and vanilla wafer crumbs. Press into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Mix powdered sugar, 1 1/2 sticks soft margarine, eggs and vanilla.
- Beat 5 minutes, then pour on crust.
- Split bananas lengthwise.
- Roll them in lemon juice to preserve the color.
- Lay slices on top of cream mixture.
- Drain pineapple and spread over bananas.
- Beat the Cool Whip and spread over top.
- Sprinkle cake with chopped nuts.
- Place a cherry in the middle of each anticipated serving.
- Refrigerate at least an hour before serving.
