Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. mashed bananas
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts
  • 3/4 tsp. salt

Method

  • Cream the butter and sugar thoroughly.
  • Blend in eggs, bananas and vanilla.
  • Sift flour, soda and salt together.
  • Add to banana mixture, alternating with buttermilk, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  • Add nuts and mix.
  • Pour into greased and floured loaf pans.
  • Bake at 325° for 1 1/4 hours, or until done.
