Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 c. water
- 5 medium potatoes, baked, peeled and cubed
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 chicken bouillon cube
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- salt, pepper and sweet basil
- bacon, Cheddar cheese and chopped green onion
Method
- Saute 1 small onion in butter or margarine until tender.
- Add flour and stir until smooth.
- Add one cup of water with bouillon cube and milk.
- Stir constantly, until thickened.
- Add potatoes. Cook and stir until potatoes are well mixed in white sauce.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon basil to taste.
- Serve hot with bacon, Cheddar cheese and chopped green onion.
- Yields 4 servings.
