Ingredients

  • 4 c. cornflakes, crushed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 slices bread
  • 1/4 c. butter

Method

  • Combine eggs, milk, salt and vanilla in a shallow bowl.
  • Dip bread into egg mixture turning once and allowing both sides to absorb liquid.
  • Coat evenly with crumbs and place in a single layer on a well-greased baking sheet.
  • Drizzle with melted butter. Bake in a 450° oven for about 10 minutes or until lightly brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with warm syrup.
