Ingredients

  • 7 day old bread slices, cubed
  • 1 (2 oz.) jar Hormel homestyle bacon pieces
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted

Method

  • Layer cubed bread in buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Cover bread with bacon pieces and onion.
  • Beat together eggs, milk, salt and pepper.
  • Pour over bread.
  • Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
  • Drizzle butter over cheese.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Bake at 325° for 1 hour.
  • Serves 6 to 8 persons.
