Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. yeast
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 8 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. lukewarm milk
- 3 tsp. salt
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. sugar
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/4 c. melted oleo or butter
- lukewarm water
- 6 beaten eggs
Method
- Soften the yeast in 1 cup lukewarm water with the sugar.
- Sift together the flour, salt, sugar and baking powder.
- Stir in the melted oleo or butter, cooled to lukewarm.
- Add a little more lukewarm water, if needed, to make a stiff dough (not too stiff). Add the eggs.
- Save 2 tablespoons for glazing.
