Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 2/3 c. light brown sugar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 lb. unsalted butter
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 1/2 tsp. grated orange zest
- 3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 3 lb. tart baking apples
Method
- Heat the oven to 375°.
- Combine flour, 1/3 cup of the sugar and the salt.
- Cut the butter into small pieces and rub into the flour mixture until crumbly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining 1/3 cup sugar, cornstarch, orange zest and cinnamon.
- Peel the apples, core and cut into chunks.
- Add to the sugar mixture and toss to coat.
