Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 4 c. diced apples or peaches
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. sifted flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 well beaten egg
  • 1/2 c. canned milk
  • 1/3 c. butter, melted

Method

  • Place apples or peaches in bottom of greased deep-dish pie plater or baking dish.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar. Sift together dry ingredients.
  • Combine egg, milk and butter.
  • Add dry ingredients all at once to milk mixture.
  • Mix until smooth. Pour over fruit.
  • Sprinkle with nuts.
  • Preheat oven to 320°.
  • Bake slow for about 50 minutes.
  • Great with ice cream.
