Ingredients
- 5 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 pkg. dry yeast or 1 cake yeast
- 3 Tbsp. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Method
- Sift dry ingredients; cut in shortening.
- Add buttermilk with dissolved yeast.
- Cover tight and chill in refrigerator.
- Roll out and let rise an hour.
- Bake at 400° on lightly greased pans for 20 minutes.
