Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Land O Lakes Butter
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3/4 cup strawberry preserves
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons milk

Method

  • Heat oven to 350F.
  • Grease and flour 8-inch square baking pan; set aside.
  • Combine all crumb mixture ingredients in small bowl.
  • Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Press on bottom of prepared pan.
  • Bake 20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  • Meanwhile, combine all topping ingredients except preserves in same bowl.
  • Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed; set aside.
  • Spread preserves to within 1/8 inch from edge of hot, partially baked crust; sprinkle with topping.
  • Continue baking 20-25 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  • Cool completely.
  • Combine powdered sugar and almond extract in small bowl.
  • Stir in enough milk for desired glazing consistency.
  • Drizzle glaze over bars.
