Ingredients

  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Raisins
  • 1 c. Shortening (half butter or possibly margarine)
  • 1 3/4 c. Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 c. Rolled oats

Method

  • Mix sugar, shortening, Large eggs, and vanilla thoroughly.
  • Blend remaining ingredients into shorteningmixture.
  • Chill dough 4 to 5 hrs or possibly overnight.
  • Heat oven to 375.
  • Rolldough into 1 inchballs and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Flatten with greased bottom ofglass dipped insugar.
  • Bake 10 min.
  • Makes about 4-1/2 dozen cookies.
  • (55 cookies; 28 per lb.)
  • NOTE: If using self rising flour, omit soda and salt.
