Ingredients

  • 12 cup chopped onion
  • 12 cup chopped mushroom
  • 6 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 14 teaspoon dried thyme
  • salt and pepper

Method

  • Saute onions and mushrooms in 1 T. butter.
  • When onion is soft, add remaining butter and melt on medium heat.
  • Then add 3/4 of container of heavy cream, thyme and salt and pepper.
  • Incorporate butter and cream with whisk.
  • Let sauce boil until it thickens, about 10 minutes.
  • Keep on medium high heat, stirring frequently.
  • If sauce gets too thick add cream.
  • If it's too thin, add some parmesan cheese.
  • Serve over fettuccine noodles.
