Ingredients
- 12 cup chopped onion
- 12 cup chopped mushroom
- 6 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 14 teaspoon dried thyme
- salt and pepper
Method
- Saute onions and mushrooms in 1 T. butter.
- When onion is soft, add remaining butter and melt on medium heat.
- Then add 3/4 of container of heavy cream, thyme and salt and pepper.
- Incorporate butter and cream with whisk.
- Let sauce boil until it thickens, about 10 minutes.
- Keep on medium high heat, stirring frequently.
- If sauce gets too thick add cream.
- If it's too thin, add some parmesan cheese.
- Serve over fettuccine noodles.
