Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla or your favorite flavor
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Method

  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg.
  • In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt, then add to the butter mixture alternately with milk (a little flour, a little milk).
  • Begin and end with flour.
  • Mix well after adding each ingredient.
  • Add flavoring and pour into a greased and floured tube or Bundt pan.
  • Bake at 375° for about 50 minutes.
  • Cool.
  • Remove from pan; sprinkle confectioners sugar on top.
