Ingredients

  • 5 Tbsp. oats
  • 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 3 Tbsp. gluten flour
  • 1 Tbsp. yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. DATE BUTTER
  • 2 3/4 to 3 c. warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. applesauce

Method

  • Stir
  • together first 5 ingredients.
  • Add other ingredients. Give
  • 200 strokes.
  • The consistency should be soupy and stringy like
  • pancake
  • batter.
  • Add
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour. Let sit
  • 5 minutes.
  • Knead 10 minutes.
  • Rise 20 minutes.
  • Bake at 325° to 350°
  • for
  • 30
  • to 45 minutes.
  • A hollow sound when thumped indicates a thoroughly baked loaf.
