Ingredients
- 1 c. margarine
- 1 c. water
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Grease and flour a 15 x 11-inch jelly roll pan.
- Put margarine and water in large saucepan.
- Bring to a boil.
- Add sugar and beat well.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour, salt and eggs.
- Beat to mix.
- Add buttermilk, baking soda and vanilla, beat thoroughly.
- Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until cake springs back at touch.
- Pour on frosting immediately.
