Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 12 cup molasses
  • 12 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 14 teaspoon onion powder
  • 14 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 4 lbs pork spareribs or 4 lbs beef back ribs

Method

  • For sauce: Combine all ingredients for sauce in saucepan.
  • Blend ingredients with whisk until smooth over high heat.
  • When mixtures come to a boil, reduce head simmer uncovered 30-40 minutes until mixtures thickens.
  • Ribs: Cut each rack of ribs into sections of 4-6 rib each.
  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  • Tear off 4 pieces of aluminum foil 6-7 inches larger than the ribs.
  • Coat front and back of ribs with sauce.
  • Place each rack of ribs onto a piece of foil and wrap tightly.
  • Place the foil packets in the oven, seam side facing up and bake for 2-21/2 hours.
  • Remove ribs from oven when done and coat both sides of ribs with sauce.
  • Place ribs on preheated grill and grill for 2-4 minutes.
  • Serve with additional sauce.
