Ingredients
- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 Tbsp. buttermilk
- 3 to 4 c. plain flour
Method
- Work in enough plain flour to make a stiff dough.
- Cream butter, sugar and eggs.
- Dissolve soda in milk.
- Add alternating with flour.
- Chill until dough is stiff.
- Roll out and cut.
- Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
- This is an old-fashioned tea cake. Over 100 years old.
