Ingredients
- 5 to 6 cube steaks
- 1/2 pkg. seasoned stuffing mix
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
- 2 Tbsp. bacon fat
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 can water
Method
- Mix stuffing mix, celery and onion with enough hot water to make it quite moist but not soggy.
- Spread on steaks and roll up. Fasten with toothpicks.
- Brown all over with fat.
- Combine cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup and 1/2 cup of water in bowl. Add to the steaks in frying pan, being sure to scrape brown drippings from bottom; simmer, covered, about 2 hours.
- Baste and then turn occasionally.
