Ingredients

  • 6 medium green peppers
  • 1 to 1 1/4 lb. hamburger
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 c. cooked rice
  • 1 large and 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • grated Mozzarella and Cheddar cheeses

Method

  • Cut thin slice from stem of peppers. Remove all seeds and membranes. Wash inside out. Cook pepper in boiling, salted water 5 minutes and drain. Cook hamburger and onion together. Drain. Combine to this the rice, large tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and garlic salt. Heat together thoroughly. Salt insides of peppers and stuff each pepper with hamburger mixture. Stand upright in ungreased baking dish and pour remaining sauce over tops of peppers. Cover. Cook at 350° for 1 hour. Uncover. Add cheeses and cook 15 minutes longer.
