Ingredients
- 6 medium-sized green peppers
- 1 lb. pork sausage
- 3/4 c. chopped onion
- 3 c. crumbled cornbread
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/2 c. milk
Method
- Wash peppers; cut off tops.
- Cook in boiling salted water about 6 minutes and drain.
- Cook sausage; pour off drippings.
- Add onion, cooking until transparent.
- Place mixture in a bowl; add remaining ingredients.
- Stir lightly until blended.
- Fill peppers with mixture.
- Stand peppers up in shallow baking dish; cover bottom of dish with 1/4-inch hot water.
- Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
