Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 vanilla bean, cut in half and seeds scraped out
- 1/2 cup Kirschwasser
- 1 pound cherries
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
Method
- Combine cherries, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla bean and seeds in a sauce pan and bring to simmer until sugar melted, then cook covered for an additional 10 minutes.
- Add kirschwasser, stir and light repeatedly until flames no longer burn.
- Add water to cornstarch and mix to form a thick paste then add to cherries and stir till mixed well.
