Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 12 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 dash salt
  • 12 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 12 cup boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method

  • Cream butter with the sugar.
  • Add the beaten egg.
  • Add the evaporated milk.
  • Sift together flour and baking powder.
  • Add the melted chocolate.
  • Steam for 2 hours in a double boiler.
  • DO NOT COVER.
  • BUTTER SAUCE:.
  • Cook until thick.
  • Serve hot over cooked pudding.
