Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise
  • 1 box Knorr dry vegetable soup mix
  • 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
  • 1 small can water chestnuts, finely chopped (optoinal)
  • 1 large round loaf Hawaiian bread or sourdough bread

Method

  • Place spinach, soup mix, onion and water chestnuts in food processor bowl fitted with metal blade, cover.
  • Process until spinach is finely chopped.
  • Remove mixture from food processor and place in a medium bowl.
  • Stir in mayonnaise and sour cream.
  • Cover and chill overnight.
  • To serve, cut off top of bread.
  • Remove bite size pieces of bread from inside of loaf, leaving about a 1/2-inch shell.
  • Tear top into bite size pieces.
  • Fill bread shell with spinach mixture.
  • Place on a round serving plate and surround with bite size bread pieces for dipping.
