Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 or 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 16 oz. can tomatoes or 1 lb. fresh, peeled and sieved
  • 1 Tbsp. minced, fresh basil or 1 tsp. dried
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • salt to taste
  • 4 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese

Method

  • Heat oil in skillet; add garlic, then blend in other ingredients.
  • Stir until blended.
  • Lower heat and cook gently for 30 minutes, stirring every now and then.
  • Put cooked spaghetti on a large platter; cover with sauce.
  • Sprinkle with at least 4 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese.
