Ingredients
- 1-1/2 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 3/4 stick butter
- 3 eggs
- 4 Tbsp. flour (heaping)
- 1-1/2 c. sweet milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
Method
- Into skillet, place sugar, flour, cocoa, milk, butter and vanilla and cook until thickened.
- Add well beaten egg yolks, very rapidly.
- Pour into baked pie crust and top with egg whites that have been beaten until peaks stand.
- When peaks stand, add 4 tablespoons sugar and cream of tartar and beat again before putting on pie.
- Brown in moderate oven.
