Ingredients
- 2 heads broccoli
- salt and black pepper
- water
Method
- Cut the florets off the heads of broccoli.
- Cut the stems into similar size pieces.
- Add all of the broccoli -- florets and stems -- into a pot of boiling, salted water.
- Cover and cook for 5-10 minutes until broccoli is tender.
- Remove the pan from the heat and drain half of the water off into a separate container but do not discard it!
- Blend the broccoli and remaining water in the pan.
- Add more of the cooking liquid as necessary to achieve the desired consistency.
- Season and serve.
